• LeanDNA Drives Results and Operational Efficiency with the Industry’s First Factory-Focused Inventory Optimization Workflows

  • New workflows simplify and standardize the daily work process of key supply chain functions with prescriptive, AI-driven recommendations

AUSTIN, Texas – October 22, 2020 – LeanDNA, the only provider of factory-focused inventory optimization solutions, has launched the manufacturing industry’s first best practice, role-based workflow capabilities within its platform. The powerful new workflows standardize and optimize the daily work of supply chain teams, automatically prioritizing urgent inventory actions, so teams can quickly resolve issues, reduce excess inventory and critical shortages, and improve delivery performance.

“We see an opportunity to adjust to market fluctuations at a moment’s notice and drive new value by making smarter, faster inventory decisions,” said Darren Hill, Vice President of Supply Chain Management at Radius Aerospace. “The new workflows and inventory optimization view in LeanDNA enables our team to focus on driving down inventory to control costs, manage oversight, and improve on-time delivery without spending hours tracking down required information. Our team can now see a whole picture of our inventory, and it gives me and the executive team instant visibility into trends, root causes, and actions being taken to simultaneously reduce our excess inventory and prevent costly shortages. The capabilities LeanDNA provides have truly been a game changer for our team.”

The prescriptive workflows simplify the complexity of inventory optimization by automatically surfacing the most meaningful actions for each role and replacing manual work with rich root-cause analysis. This reduces time spent on back office analysis and allows each team member to take quicker actions with improved results. LeanDNA uniquely standardizes frontline teams’ daily work processes to industry best practices—speeding change management and improving efficiency—while empowering managers to understand their team's performance and identify top opportunities to optimize inventory.

    The new purpose-built workflows include:

    •       My Work view for role-based daily actions. Automatically summarizes all daily inventory work into a prioritized list from which teams can easily execute. Configurable per organization and tailored to each role, the My Work view surfaces the most actionable tasks, including PO actions, plan-for-every-part (PFEP) optimizations, and excess to sell across sites—sorted by top value—and can be filtered by site, supplier, action type, and more.
    •       Inventory Optimization view for projected opportunity. Predicts burn-off potential and surfaces net opportunities for each future week, including parts over or under target quantity. Inventory teams can drill down to see parts in urgent need of optimization, those driving spikes in inventory, and those with the largest opportunity for reduction, all of which help them meet financial goals.
    •       Purchase order-level recommendations. Tells teams the specific actions that will optimize inventory levels for each part. Suggestions include when to expedite, move in, or place a new purchase order to prevent a shortage, or when to cancel or move out POs that will cause excess inventory. The workflow also advises when to split purchase orders—an action not typically recommended through an MRP—to prevent excess inventory and free up cash.
    •     Interactive dashboards and analytics. Ties together advanced inventory analytics, recommendations, actions, and collaboration for every role. Teams can customize and share insights to track trends, identify root causes, surface opportunities to proactively manage shortages, update delivery schedules, optimize PFEP processes, and more.

Each role-based workflow is purpose-built for supply chain leaders and frontline inventory teams, and configurable for each business’ unique inventory goals and needs, preferred standard work, and more, so only the most valuable, actionable recommendations are surfaced daily.

“Fluctuating demand and workforce challenges are putting pressure on already overwhelmed supply chain teams to connect, collaborate, and act faster and better than ever before. Executing quickly, and in a way that enables the organization to reduce excess inventory while improving delivery performance, is impossible when relying on an array of offline tools and processes,” said Richard Lebovitz, CEO of LeanDNA. “We’ve intentionally designed these new workflows to give teams the insights, guidance, structure, and visibility they need to boost productivity and continuously optimize inventory amidst today’s dynamic environment.”
