Our Supply Chain Heroes program recognizes and celebrates the hard work of LeanDNA customers who optimize inventory, reduce shortages, and empower their companies to operate more efficiently. Every hero has a story, and we’re here to tell them!
Embarking on a journey toward manufacturing excellence requires not just skill but also a hero's mindset. In the intricate world of supply chain management, Radek Fuxa, a Materials Manager at Johnson Controls, has emerged as an industry leader. With over 20 years of experience, Radek's commitment to optimizing inventory, reducing shortages, and enhancing operational efficiency has earned him a well-deserved place in our Supply Chain Heroes program. Let's dive into Radek's story—a narrative of challenges conquered, solutions embraced, and a relentless pursuit of manufacturing excellence.
The Efficiency Challenge: A Common Struggle
Even industry leaders face challenges, and for Radek, it was the time-consuming nature of reporting and analysis. Digging into root causes, identifying trends, and discovering opportunities became tedious tasks, leading to misprioritization and overlooked opportunities.
Radek and his team attempted to navigate through spreadsheet madness using Excel macros and customized ERP transactions. While these efforts provided some relief, they fell short of delivering an ideal solution for the entire team.
Results in Reductions
“LeanDNA is a perfect tool to visualize results, trends, opportunities and risks. The daily updates give me a chance to understand the impact of changes on customer demand or the supplier side. All needed actions can be triggered immediately when they appear, which brings a much higher opportunity to succeed.” -Radek Fuxa, Materials Manager at Johnson Controls
Enter LeanDNA—the perfect tool for Radek and his team to visualize results, trends, and opportunities. Daily updates allow them to understand the impact of changes in the supply chain, triggering prioritized actions for higher chances of success.
By running projects through LeanDNA, Radek's team bid farewell to multiple Excel files, reducing early deliveries and enhancing overall inventory health. The platform facilitated effective management of supplier POs, slashing email traffic and streamlining communication between material planners and buyers.
“LeanDNA brings real value into the inventory management process not only to present actual status’ but also brings suggestions for changes to consider and a forward looking outlook.” -Radek Fuxa, Materials Manager at Johnson Controls
Looking Forward
Looking forward to the next six months, Radek plans to continue reducing email traffic by moving communication from email into LeanDNA’s Supplier Connect platform for material shortage management, and more projects will be created for planning parameters changes. He also plans to connect more suppliers to LeanDNA's platform to further streamline communication and optimize inventory.
Radek attributes his continued success to strong support from Johnson Controls, LeanDNA specialists, and the crucial backing of end-users—his teams—who enjoy working with LeanDNA.
“LeanDNA is an amazing tool that saves time, money, and brings working [in supply chain] to the next level. [LeanDNA] helps to be more efficient, have things under control, and focus on right priorities.” -Radek Fuxa, Materials Manager at Johnson Controls
